Introduction to Information Graphics and Data Visualisation - week V (article)

This capture is talking about how to adjust the interesting information by using correct technic. Designers should make it easier to understand and can bring it out for getting the message.

The important things for making a good work which is a grid. Grid can divide the message to the good composition for making easier understanding. Most of designer use the grid to adjust or manage content of the message. So we can see the grid system on media such as magazine, newspaper and etc. Designers need to concern about geometric division, movement of alignment and grouping of content for creating a space for typographic and pictorial content to make it easy for receiver to get the message.

The important technic for making more good work is that "legibility". legibility is include Colour, Contrast and Typography technic, so in these 3 parts is necessary to depend on grid. Colour is the way as soon as possible in the media for a simple message. The culture and environment change will affect perception. Contrast is a number of ways to achieve contrast with colour. Contrast can make receiver to divide the information that is how the message importance or difference with other. In colour and Contrast can use hue, value, saturation, intensity, orientation, position, shape, size, texture, and weight technic to make the intelligible message. The last thing is typography. All of the aesthetic principles in this chapter can apply to typography. However, type has unique characteristics, and specific issues must be borne in mind when making typographic decisions for information design projects. Typography can tell the feeling of the work by shape, size, too

The important things for designers is attention of the work. Every kind of work always has many detail, if you can pay attention in the small case, the work is always coming perfect.

Introduction to Information Graphics and Data Visualisation - week IV (article)

This chapter is talking about how to transmit knowledge, share concept and process information through language. It's many way to do these but It has one thing that the most important is that the message that the sender want to sent to the receiver. If sender sent the message badly, It gonna be made some mistake.

The Organization of content directly affects our ability to receive a message. If the information appears jumbled many viewers "disconnect" before a transmission is completed. It has 5 things that can help us to communicate is that LATCH. LATCH was developed by Richard Saul Wurman who is also famous for coining the term "information architect".
                              - Location : Based on physical geography. It's about where information is often grouped by location in the human body.
                              - Alphabet : This simple tool has proved very effective for numerous information artefacts. We use when seeking a structure that will be broadly familiar to diverse audience.
                              - Time : We use when understand the sequence of event, such as calendar of travel, cooking introduction .
                              - Category : Categorical structures group information with similar feature or attributes.
                              - Hierarch : Measure or perceived importance. Examples include food chain, emergency instructions or military insignia.
Information design must consider how the audience will locate and use content. One thing that as important as is that the inverted pyramid, Included Lead, Supporting Information and Detail, is about context of the message that we have to get.

Seeking is the great thing for making information design or making a design, because you can be receiver and sender at the same moment and you can think about it, But the most most important thing is that to get the basic for seeking. If you have LATCH or basic of message you're gonna be a great designer

Introduction to Information Graphics and Data Visualisation - week III (article)

This chapter is talking about the visual and auditory art that developed until now. It's talk about history of visual art showed in the cave that has made people to be memorized the information. Some technic of processing can make the new idea of art works.

Visual, Auditory and kinesthetic are important for develop the information become more beautiful and helpful. Because visual is seeing of the work, Auditory is about languages that used in the work and kinesthetic is about processing the work. Kinesthetic is most important thing because processing is the way that go to the result, If you get a good of process the work is going to be professional. The good information design have to communicate a spicific message to the end user in a way that is clear, easy and understand.

Everything are important as anything because layout, form, typography are important  to make it to be the first topic for making the artwork, Theme style of information  are a good thing that we should to think about it

Introduction to Information Graphics and Data Visualisation - week II

Introduction to Information Graphics and Data Visualisation - week II   (article)

Information graphics had been appeared over 30,000 years before earl. They want to count their food and their people around the place, They use the easy carving technic by using the rock to rock. Since that time It begin to create the sign or any information graphic for understanding the data.

Development of information graphic was start from 1940s, So we call ISOTYPE. It's a sign of information. It's become easier to understand. And the big point is that Compare with the 2 information to information. Most definitions of information design include language such as "design for human use" or "human-centered." But what happens when the intended audience isn't mankind? Around 70s was begin to use to communicate to people by the label or Brochure to make they easy the information of the band faster.

In the 20th many people use information graphics to communication n the internet because the internet has many brand that want to inform their news and It's not possible to give the people pay extension by reading something in a long time. They have to create the good things for people.

Information graphics is not about the graphics to make beautiful but information graphics is the information by research or by learning and bring them to campare to the another things. It's important for this century to use information graphics to communication the news.

Concept Idea

I entered this contest with my friends (Grace and Best).  We saw this notice from board at CommDe. We got through until the last 10 teams round ,so we have a change to arrange my installation at Siam Center in 20th November 2556.

This contest’s concept is “Networking Celebration”.  We interpreted this concept that Happy center, So we chose Totem to be my inspiration and we adapt Totem form to my form by using
below acrylic lines for connecting stand lines to give the meaning more networking. We inserted sound effect linked visual for celebration’s meaning

and was interested, so I decided to participate with
two of my friends, Grace and Cake.  There were 3 teams from CommDe,  and all of our got through until the last 20 people round. The theme was ‘Global Warming.’ I decided to visualise my installation in terms of feeling and point of view of people.
I used the form of gas to represent what we have done to our earth and mirrors for reflection.  All this visualises the result of what we have done to our earth without concerning.

RUBIK'S

Hex prism

This Rubik’s cube was adapted from a simple Rubik’s cube by cutting edges and reattaching them to be other shape.

During the process of making Rubik’s cube, I have to design, calculate and produce keeping in mind of the real usage which are the challenge and the ability to achieve the challenge.
